Can you withdraw cash for free in Iceland?
It depends on the bank. In Iceland, some bank ATMs are free and others charge a fee. Fee for foreign cards not yet documented.

Should I pay in ISK or in my home currency?

How do I avoid ATM fees in Iceland?
Fees are charged mainly by: Arion banki, Íslandsbanki, Euronet / independent operator (ISK 265.20–678.64). The fee is shown on screen before the withdrawal, so you can still cancel. Use the ATMs marked as free on the map. Avoid Euronet and other independent operators, especially at airports and in tourist areas. Withdraw a larger amount once rather than small amounts several times, and check before your trip what your own bank charges for foreign withdrawals.
