It's difficult. Within 2 km of the centre of Colombo we don't know of any ATM that is reliably free. Check the screen at the ATM.
Should I pay in LKR or in my home currency?
If the ATM offers to charge you in your home currency, always choose LKR (without conversion). The ATM's own conversion often costs 5–10%.
